Laura McGovern

Chief Process & Innovation Officer at Alfred Benesch & Company

Laura leads firm-wide efforts to optimize production processes and keep Benesch at the forefront of industry trends and innovation. From technology initiatives and project management to company knowledge sharing, she is focused on identifying ways to improve the processes that help us deliver for the clients.

Prior to stepping into the CPIO role, Laura led and grew the Illinois Division’s Civil and Electrical Group. She worked on several high-profile projects during her time with Benesch, including the innovative Jane Addams Tollway reconstruction, a 25-mile interstate widening and reconstruction project which included implementation of an innovative Smart Corridor with 18 miles of Active Traffic Management for a major toll corridor from Elgin, IL to O’Hare airport.

Laura is active in the engineering industry; she currently serves as Vice Board Chair for the American Council of Engineering Companies-Illinois and as the organization’s Chair for the Innovations Committee. She is also a champion of STEM, having led the Mathcounts program in Illinois for over 30 years.
