Tom O'Connor CDPO, FCI is a seasoned compliance professional with extensive experience in the financial services sector. Currently serving as Head of Compliance for Ireland at Algebris Investments since July 2023, Tom previously held significant roles, including Head of Compliance and Designated Person for Regulatory Compliance at KB Associates and various compliance leadership positions at HedgeServ, including Director and Compliance Officer for Financial Crime. Tom's background also includes a Senior Manager role in Financial Services Advisory Risk at EY, where key achievements involved delivering critical compliance documentation and supporting AML reviews. Educationally, Tom holds a Master of Science in Compliance and multiple qualifications focused on financial crime prevention and risk management from prestigious institutions, including University College Dublin and the International Compliance Association. Additionally, Tom contributed to regulatory initiatives as an advisor for the Irish Banking Federation and chaired the European Mortgage Federation's Statistics Committee.
