Chris Mekeel

Chris Mekeel has a diverse work experience, with their most recent role being the Chief Technology Officer at Keel Labs since January 2024. Chris previously served as the Vice President of Research and Development at Keel Labs from January 2023 to January 2024. Before that, they worked at Biomason as the Director of Applications from August 2021 to January 2023. Chris also held roles as a Senior Research and Development Scientist and a Commercial Research and Development Scientist at Biomason. Prior to Biomason, Chris worked at UL as a Senior Staff Engineer from September 2018 to March 2020. Chris also served as a Research Associate at North Carolina State University from July 2013 to September 2018. Additionally, they have worked as a Research Chemist at URS Corporation, an AECOM Company, and as a Chemist at Intertek Testing Services and Norwich Pharmaceuticals.

Chris Mekeel holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University at Buffalo, which they obtained from 2003-2008. Chris further pursued their education at North Carolina State University, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Fiber and Polymer Science from 2013-2019. Additionally, Chris obtained a certification as a Certified LabView Associate Developer from the National Instruments in 2015.
