Jim Curtis has a diverse and extensive work history spanning over three decades. Jim began their career in 1992 as a Senior Managing Accountant at E.L. Bert & Company, where they gained experience in tax preparation and financial statement audits. Jim then moved on to Credit Management Solutions, Inc. (CMSI) in 1996, where they served as Controller and played a crucial role in the company's successful initial public offering (IPO).
In 1998, Jim joined Lawson Software as an ERP Pre-Sales Consultant, excelling in driving sales and achieving exceptional results, including surpassing team sales quotas. Jim then transitioned to Hyperion Solutions in 2000, where they held various roles, including Major Account Executive and Sales Director. During their tenure, Jim achieved remarkable success, securing some of the largest deals in the company's history and consistently meeting quotas.
Jim's next career move brought him to Oracle in 2007, where they served as a Senior Sales Account Executive, Regional Sales Manager, and eventually as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) & Vice President, Sales - Enterprise Performance Management (EPM). Jim'scontributions to the company included driving consistent growth, leading the transition from on-premise to cloud-based solutions, and integrating teams during a reorganization.
In 2016, Jim joined New Relic, Inc. as Group Vice President, Enterprise Commercial & Public Sector Sales & Vice President, Sales. Jim played a pivotal role in the company's success by transforming its business focus to product-led growth and cloud consumption. Jim introduced new sales processes and methodologies that led to substantial revenue growth and increased transaction size capability.
Next, Jim worked at commercetools as the Head of Sales, Americas, overseeing the development of the company's early-stage Americas business unit. Jim implemented a standardized sales process and drove business growth by rapidly hiring teams and forging strategic partnerships.
At Confluent, Jim served as the Vice President, Global Strategic Accounts and Public Sector, and was responsible for designing and implementing strategic sales programs to drive revenue generation within Fortune 500 accounts. Jim also played a key role in the growth and expansion of the company's go-to-market functions.
Currently, Jim is the Executive Vice President of Sales at Alight Solutions, a leading cloud-based human capital technology and services provider. Jim plays a crucial role in powering confident health, wealth, and wellbeing decisions for millions of people and dependents. Jim oversees sales operations and leverages data analytics to create a seamless user experience on the Alight Worklife platform.
Throughout their career, Jim has consistently demonstrated strong leadership skills, developed and promoted internal talent, forged strategic partnerships, and implemented structured sales processes to drive business growth and revenue generation.
Jim Curtis has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Accounting from the University of Maryland. Jim is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed by the State of Maryland and holds a certification as a Licensed Private Pilot, Multi-Engine Instrument from the Federal Aviation Administration.
