Sing Yiu Cheung

Sing Yiu Cheung has a diverse work experience spanning various companies and roles. Sing Yiu currently works as a Lead Engineer at All Day Kitchens, where they rebuilt the restaurant partners label printer system and innovated the next generation inventory system. Prior to that, they were a Staff Software Engineer at WeWork, where they developed LoRaWAN based IAQ sensors, implemented a scalable building OS, and prototyped a next generation physical access control system. Sing Yiu Cheung also co-founded Peeq Data, Inc. and served as the Engineering Director, where they implemented a video capture system for sport games and designed a sport player tracker/sensor. Sing Yiu has also worked as a Director of Research & Development at PINC Solutions, where they extended the use of RTLS and improved supply chain execution. Sing Yiu Cheung's early career includes roles as a Graduate Researcher at the Sensor Networks Research Group and an Engineering Consultant at Sensys Networks Inc. Sing Yiu also volunteered as a Control Engineer for The Blue Team in the DARPA Grand Challenge, where they developed balancing and stability control algorithms for an autonomous motorcycle.

Sing Yiu Cheung earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Hong Kong from 1998 to 2001. From 2001 to 2006, they pursued a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a major in Control/ITS at the University of California, Berkeley. Sing Yiu Cheung also obtained additional certifications in Scrum, including "Scrum: Advanced" and "Scrum: The Basics" from LinkedIn in the year 2021.
