Nathan Hawkins

Synthetic Biology Research Associate at All G Foods

Nathan Hawkins has worked in a variety of roles since 2016. Nathan began as a Dance Director and cast member for the Sydney University Science Revue, where they designed and lead choreography for groups of 20-80 cast members for an onstage revue performance, benefiting Cystic Fibrosis Australia. In 2017, they held a Retail Sales Manager role at The Wine Society and a Vice President role at SoulXpress, where they organised and participated in both rehearsed and impromptu performances on stage and put together weekly lesson plans for members involving diverse choice for dancing styles and instructors. In 2019, Nathan joined Vow as a Research Associate and Contract Researcher. During this time, their main research focus centered on procuring and performance testing unique primary cell lines and scaling them for bioprocess. Nathan also developed some novel image processing tools in FIJI to help facilitate research. Additionally, they were a Usyd 2019 team member for the iGEM Competition, where they worked with some amazing individuals under Dr Coleman at Usyd to genetically engineer E. coli to produce Psilocybin. Finally, in 2022, Nathan became a Synthetic Biology Research Associate at All G Foods.

Nathan Hawkins attended the University of Sydney from 2015 to 2019, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics. Prior to this, they attended SHORE from 2008 to 2013.
