Akira Modise

Akira Modise is currently serving as a Research Fellow at Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropies, beginning in February 2024, where research focuses on development areas with guidance from an experienced mentor. Simultaneously, Akira is a Junior Researcher at the Centre for Mediation in Africa since May 2023, contributing to logistics and planning while assisting main staff. Prior experience includes a Junior Researcher role at the Institute of Pan-African Thought & Conversation (IPATC) from September 2022 to July 2023, and a position as a Teaching Assistant and External Marker at the University of Pretoria from February 2019 to November 2021, focusing on philosophy tutoring. Akira is pursuing a Master's in Development Studies at the University of Johannesburg, and holds a Bachelor of Political Science with a focus on International Studies and a BAHonours in International Relations from the University of Pretoria.
