Projectconservator Theaterkostuums Bij Theatercollectie Allard Pierson at Allard Pierson

Leonie Sterenborg is an experienced project conservator and curator specializing in theater costumes and fashion history. Currently serving as Project Conservator for Theaterkostuums at Allard Pierson since January 2021, Leonie is also the Project Coordinator for Localising Global Garment Biographies at Universiteit Leiden from September 2023 to September 2024. Previous roles include Conservator at Zaans Museum and Curator at the Museum of Bags and Purses. Leonie has held various positions within the Nederlandse Kostuumvereniging, including Secretary and Board Member, contributing significantly to the organization’s Bulletin. Other notable experience includes project staff roles at OorlogsVerzetsMuseum Rotterdam, Amsterdam Museum, and Museum Rotterdam, alongside a brief position assisting with the Magie van de Vrouw exhibition at Wereldmuseum. Education includes a Master of Art in Art History from the University of Amsterdam and additional studies at Koninklijk Nederlands Instituut te Rome and University of Sussex.
