Applications Design Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW     

Alliance Automation is seeking to grow our Applications Engineering team with skilled individuals that enjoy thinking outside the box in a team environment to solve practical problems with no standard solution. The projects we work on offer broad and diverse experiences that strengthen and challenge individual and team skills resulting in innovative solutions.

As an Applications Design Engineer at Alliance, you will work alongside a team of professionals to help develop an accurate budget and quote that outlines key concept points, sequence of operations, and mechanical description. We work with solutions that include robotics, vision, pneumatic, and motion control. You will work hard as a team, meet deadlines, and be rewarded for a job well done.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

• Produce 2D layouts.
• Create cycle time charts.
• Review requests from the Application Engineer and/or Technical Writer.
• Possess solid working knowledge of subject matter.
• Collaborate with Costing Engineer.
• Perform work under general supervision.
• Handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• As required:
  • Prepare 3D concepts.
  • Conduct robot reach, cycle time, capacity studies.
  • Assist project team.
  • Support internal quote review meeting.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• 2+ years’ equivalent experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field

• Solidworks experiences is a plus.

• MotoSim and RoboGuide experience is a plus.
