Entry Level Machine Builder

*Position Overview:*This is full-time with an overtime opportunity to learn custom building trades. Individuals in these positions have the opportunity to learn and advance in the duties listed below.

​Duties:

  • How to mechanically and electrically build and assemble custom automated manufacturing equipment and machinery.

  • How to build electrical panels and the wiring of electrical devices.

  • How to read pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical assembly drawings.

  • Pneumatic & hydraulic panel building and plumbing of valves and cylinders, etc.

  • How to participate in the start-up, troubleshooting, and debugging related to the assembly process in accordance with company safety procedures.

  • They will learn how to recognize unsafe conditions and take appropriate actions.

  • They will learn time management skills in the completion of projects.

Requirements:

  • A basic understanding and curiosity for electrical theory and principles.

  • A basic understanding and curiosity for mechanical theory and principles.

  • A desire to work with their hands to create industrial equipment.

  • Must possess a desire to become competent in working around electrical equipment.

  • Common sense to recognize unsafe conditions and hazards in the workplace and take action to eliminate the risks.

  • The ability to work under minimal supervision.

  • The desire to improve skills through various training opportunities as offered by the company.

  • Must have a good driving record.

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience in machine building or similar experience in a related industry would be a plus but is not required.

  • Vocational school or junior technical college training in the related industry is a plus.

  • Baseline robotic knowledge would be a plus but is not required.

  • Capable of climbing in overhead structures, working beneath machines, and in close quarters performing to complete machinery build and repair work.

  • Must meet the company's substance abuse testing requirements; a safety-sensitive person may be subject to random substance abuse checks.

  • Valid state motor vehicle operator's license.

Physical Demands:

  1. This position may require constant standing and frequent walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, and twisting.

  2. Working in machine building also requires constant cervical flexion, the chin to chest movement. Maximum lifting weight can reach about 50lbs, maximum carrying weight is about 30lbs, and the maximum pushing and pulling weight can reach 100-150lbs.

  3. Frequent forward and lateral reach may be required, as well as frequent grasping, handling, and pinching. Working in this position requires a strong ability to work alone and self-supervised as well as the ability to supervise others.

  4. It also requires handling attention to detail, tight deadlines, responsibility and accountability, and the ability to multitask.

The physical work requirements of this position are at times strenuous. The job requires standing for long periods and frequent work on ladders and scaffolds. Install working conditions.
