Christo Schiphorst

Christo Schiphorst, PhD, is a Data Scientist currently working at alliander since November 2023, previously holding the same position at INNAX from November 2022 to October 2023. At INNAX, Christo employed optimization algorithms and machine learning techniques to enhance data analysis, streamline processes, and develop automation algorithms to reduce energy consumption in buildings. With a background in biophysics, Christo served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Wageningen University & Research from September 2020 to October 2022, focusing on improving crop productivity through studies on energy capture and transfer in photosystems. Prior to this, Christo completed a PhD at Università degli Studi di Verona, specializing in photosynthesis and energy transfer mechanisms in plants and algae. Additional experience includes an internship at Syngenta and teaching chemistry at Sg Spieringshoek high school. Christo holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Life Science & Technology from Leiden University and Delft University of Technology, respectively.
