Chris Gallagher

Chris Gallagher has extensive work experience in compliance and risk management roles. Chris currently serves as the Director of Compliance at AIB Merchant Services, where they manage the firm's compliance framework and focuses on conduct and financial crime. Prior to this, Chris worked at PwC Ireland as a Director, specializing in financial services risk and regulation consulting, including designing compliance frameworks and financial crime operating models. Chris also held the position of Interim Chief Compliance Officer for a pillar bank. Before joining PwC, Chris was the Head of Compliance for the Banking & Debt Solutions business units of Capita, overseeing regulated firms across Europe. Chris also served as the Global Life Compliance Officer at Zurich Insurance Group, where they had operational oversight of compliance functions globally. Chris began their career as a Compliance Assistant at Eagle Star Life Assurance Company of Ireland Ltd.

Chris Gallagher attended University College Dublin from 1998 to 2002 and obtained a Bachelor of Business & Legal Studies degree with a focus on Business and Law. In 2007, they completed a Certificate in Compliance from the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland. In 2023, they participated in a program at IBM SkillsBuild in Artificial Intelligence.
