Paul Sears has extensive work experience in the marketing and advertising industry. Paul started their career at McClain Finlon Advertising as a Media Assistant and later became a Media Planner, managing integrated media campaigns for clients such as Xcel Energy and The Denver Zoo. During their time at McClain Finlon Advertising, they developed a successful hyper-local out of home media campaign for the Denver Zoo that resulted in a significant increase in attendance.
Paul then moved on to Saatchi & Saatchi in Los Angeles as a Media Planner before joining DDB as an Account Supervisor. At DDB, they provided client service and support to the strategy team, working on accounts such as Activision, Clearwire High Speed Internet, and Ameriquest Mortgage.
Paul later joined TBWA Chiat Day as an Account Supervisor, where they played a key role in the successful "There's A Soldier In All of Us" campaign for Call of Duty Black Ops.
Paul then joined RocketXL as a Sr. Client Services Manager and eventually became an Account Director. Paul managed social and digital accounts for clients like Electronic Arts, Focus Features, Legendary Pictures, and more. Paul also played a significant role in business development and new client onboarding.
Following their time at RocketXL, Paul worked at R&R Partners as an Account Director, leading strategy, planning, and client service on the global Western Digital account. Paul was responsible for transforming the brand platform and developing campaigns for both B2C and B2B product lines.
In 2015, Paul joined Allison+Partners as an SVP, VP, and eventually became the EVP of Integrated Marketing. Paul led client service, strategy, program management, and business development, creating new agency solutions and offerings. Paul also served as the principal brand strategist for numerous clients and was responsible for brand positioning, identity, naming, and go-to-market strategy.
Currently, Paul is the Managing Director of Brand & Engagement Strategy at Allison+Partners, where they lead their global team. Paul supports clients with brand strategy, visual identity, product naming, portfolio architecture, product marketing, customer engagement planning, go-to-market planning, and creative campaign development. Paul has also created and commercialized the agency's proprietary brand health research and planning framework, called V.
Paul Sears earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Advertising from the University of Colorado Boulder. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications. In 2019, Paul completed the Digital Marketing Strategy certification program offered by Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. In 2018, they became a Certified Professional Dog Trainer through the Association of Professional Dog Trainers. During the same year, Paul also obtained the certifications of Certified Scrum Product Owner and Marketing Strategy, but the specific months are unknown. In 2015, they earned the Certified ScrumMaster certification from Scrum Alliance. Most recently, in September 2022, Paul completed the Foundations in Design Thinking course at IDEO U.
