Darrell Irvine

Darrell Irvine is a Professor at The Scripps Research Institute since September 2024, previously serving as a Professor at MIT from January 2002 to September 2024. Irvine holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Polymer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, completed in 2000, and a B. Phil. in Engineering Physics from the University of Pittsburgh, obtained in 1995. Irvine has been an Investigator at Howard Hughes Medical Institute since June 2008 and is actively involved as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) for several biotechnology companies, including Alloy Therapeutics, Inc. (since March 2021), Ankyra Therapeutics (since January 2020), Mass General Cancer Center (since May 2019), Medicine by Design at the University of Toronto (since June 2016), Strand Therapeutics (since May 2018), and Elicio Therapeutics (since 2012). Additionally, Irvine was a member of the SAB at SQZ Biotechnologies from April 2015 to September 2023.
