Richard Kennedy has extensive experience in the field of medical oncology and drug development. Richard served as the Global Vice President and Medical Director at Almac Group, where they worked with major international pharmaceutical companies in applying biomarkers to drug development and clinical practice. Richard also consulted on clinical trial design. In addition, Richard held the position of McClay Professor of Medical Oncology at Queen's University Belfast, where they contributed to advancements in medical research. Richard is currently a Director at OML and a Member of the Board of Advisors at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine. Richard has also been involved in various organizations such as MATRIX NI, Health Innovation Research Alliance Northern Ireland (HIRANI), and Cancer Research UK (CRUK), where they served as a member of committees focused on improving cancer treatment and research. Richard has clinical experience as a Medical Consultant/Attending at Belfast City Hospital during the COVID-19 response and as a Consultant/Attending in Medical Oncology at the Northern Ireland Cancer Centre. Prior to these roles, they were an Instructor at Harvard Medical School, focusing on siRNA screening protocols, biomarker identification, and researching Fanconi anaemia and BRCA1/2 pathway.

Richard Kennedy obtained a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery - MBBS degree in Medical Oncology and Molecular Biology from Queen's University Belfast from 1989 to 1995. Richard later pursued a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Molecular Biology from the same institution from 2001 to 2004. Richard also holds additional certifications, including a Medical Laboratories Quality Assurance and Control Training Certificate from UKAS obtained in 2022, and various certifications from institutions such as LinkedIn and the Royal College of Physicians.
