Java Developer - Smartbooking

The Alpega Group is looking for Backend Developer (Java). This role will be part of our Carrier Products Team and to be part of the Product development. This role will be based in Sant Cugat, Spain.

ABOUT THE ROLE  

• You will be responsible (within a small team) for the development phase of the project (end to end), starting from the business analysis up to the release into production (that includes technical analysis, estimate, development, IT testing and bug fixing);
• Design, own, operate and maintain new and current solutions in an Agile environment to continuously deliver value to customers;
• Working as well on user interfaces and server-side aspects;
• Drive the software quality, security and performance through unit, functional and performance tests;
• Define and estimate technical solutions together with product owner/business analyst;
• Support continuous improvements of the team and the development environment;
• Review code regularly.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOU 

• Good knowledge & experience: Java 11/JEE/Hibernate/JPA/SQL - at least 4 years of experience

• Good knowledge about SOLID principles, clean code, DRY. (you need to know about them, maybe not in detail)

• Bachelor Engineering / Computer Science or related fields

• Ability to quickly grasp existing solutions (delve into code); - AUTONOMY TO FIGURE THINGS ON YOUR OWN OR ASK FOR HELPS WHEN NEEDED

• Have fluent English

Nice to have
Knowledge of PostgreSQL or Oracle Database, Webservices, Rest services

Debugging capability: jProfiler, tcpdump, system resources. (minor experience would be nice)

Jenkins/Maven/ActiveMQ, for creating business critical SAAS / WEB commercial application platforms, go to cloud (AWS) experience/certification on the AWS platform and Performance/scalability testing.
Ability to explain technical concepts and adapt it to the audience
You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced and changing environment;

Experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Linux/unix: ssh, scp, bash and/or other scripting language, debugging
