Zahra Maria

Zahra Maria is a Scientist in Research Pharmacology at Alpine Immune Sciences, Inc., where responsibilities include planning and executing in vivo auto-immune mouse model studies and developing pre-clinical models to evaluate therapeutic assets. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, focusing on the role of Pertussis Toxin in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis and interactions between myelin specific T helper 17 cells and B cells. Additional roles include research at the University of Oklahoma on endoplasmic reticulum stress in obese mouse models and a postdoctoral fellowship at Oklahoma State University investigating cardiac specific overexpression of a calcium ATPase pump in type 1 diabetes. Zahra holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and a Master's Degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Oklahoma State University, as well as an undergraduate degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.
