Thomas Borchert

Thomas Borchert is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in machine learning and software engineering. Currently serving as Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Altos Labs since October 2023, Thomas previously held the role of Principal Software Engineer at Pachama from May 2022 to June 2023. Prior to that, Thomas contributed to Amazon as a Principal Software Engineer from September 2017 to May 2022, focusing on simulation and experimentation in the supply chain. Thomas also held significant roles at Microsoft, serving as Principal Software Engineering Lead and Senior Software Development Engineer, with expertise in search advertising algorithms and Azure Machine Learning. Early career experiences include a GIS Consultant position at ESRI (UK) and Lead Software Developer at Placeways, LLC, specializing in spatial data analysis tools. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Caltech and the University of Colorado Boulder, respectively.
