Nancy Fechnay

Nancy Fechnay is a senior principal at Alumni Ventures Group and a former partner at Flight Ventures. Nancy has also worked with Empath Ventures, Towerview Ventures, Gaingels, NEXUS Global, Capital Factory, Unique Ventures, and ID Theory.

Nancy is originally from the United States but spent several years living in London where they ran Flight Ventures' international office. Nancy returned to the US in 2020 and is now leading Flight's early-stage, positive impact deals.

Nancy has a long history of working with startups and venture capital firms. Nancy has a track record of success with investments in companies such as LinkedIn, Paypal, Ziprealty, Cafe.com, and Fastly.

Nancy Fechnay received their B.S. from the University of Virginia in Systems and Information Engineering. Nancy then went on to get their Masters in Environmental Management from the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University, with a focus in energy, sustainability, and cleantech. Nancy also has a Master of Business Administration from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business with a finance and entrepreneurship focus. Nancy has additionally completed a Blockchain Strategy course at the University of Oxford. Nancy has also done some study abroad, including in entrepreneurship/entrepreneurial studies at Grenoble Ecole de Management and in engineering and statistics/applied mathematics at UNSW. Finally, they are a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS).

Nancy Fechnay reports to Michael Collins, Chief Executive Officer, Board Chairman. Nancy Fechnay works with Jeannie Masters - VP, Communications, Larry Warnock - Managing Partner, and Sasha Jostrom - Principal.
