Ruth Ruffieux

Ruth Ruffieux has a diverse and extensive work experience. Ruth is currently the VP Clinical Operations at Alvotech, a position they have held since 2020. Prior to that, they worked at GSK as the Director of Clinical Operations - Europe from 2015 to 2020, where they were responsible for managing the clinical operations team and executing clinical trials in Europe. Before GSK, Ruth held various roles at Novartis, including Global Head of Clinical Operations & CRO Management from 2014 to 2015, Senior Manager of Resource & CRO Management from 2008 to 2013, and Senior Project Manager from 2004 to 2008. Ruth also worked at Novartis as the Head of Development Operations, Planning & Administration from 2001 to 2004 and as the EU Head of Operations, Clinical Pharmacology from 2000 to 2001. Prior to joining Novartis, they were a Senior Clinical Research Scientist in Oncology from 1996 to 2000. Ruth's career began at Roche, where they worked as a PhD student from 1992 to 1995. Additionally, they have experience as a Medical Affairs Associate at Ciba-Geigy2 from 1995 to 1996. Overall, Ruth Ruffieux has extensive experience in clinical operations, CRO management, project management, and clinical research across various pharmaceutical companies.

Ruth Ruffieux received their PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Zurich between 1992 and 1995. Ruth also obtained a Master's degree in Natural Sciences, Chemistry from Trinity College Dublin, which they completed from 1987 to 1991. Additionally, they received a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine from the European Centre for Pharmaceutical Medicine (ECPM) from 1997 to 1999. Furthermore, Ruth Ruffieux obtained a PMP Certification in Project Management from the Project Management Institute in 2017-2018.
