Lucy Devendra

Head Of Research at Alzheimer's Society

Lucy Devendra has a strong background in research and partnerships in the field of cancer. Lucy currently works as the Head of Research at Alzheimer's Society since December 2022. Prior to this, they held the role of Research Partnerships Manager at Cancer Grand Challenges from July 2021 to December 2022. Lucy also worked at Cancer Research UK (CRUK) for a significant part of their career, starting as a Research Funding Manager for Discovery Research in April 2014. Lucy then took on roles as a Senior Research Funding Manager for Funding Innovation and later as a Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager. Before joining CRUK, Lucy worked as a Research Technician at the University of Sheffield in various research groups focused on tumour microcirculation and microcirculation research from 2008 to 2010.

Lucy Devendra completed their education in the field of Biology and Oncology. Lucy obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from the University of Nottingham in 2007, followed by a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Oncology from the same university in 2008. Later, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Oncology and Cancer Biology at the University of Leeds, completing it in 2014.
