Ashmita Singh

Ashmita Singh has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Ashmita has served as Co-Managing Director at AMANDLA Social Enterprises, where they played a key role in developing and implementing core processes for standardizing operations and expanding the company's footprint. Ashmita also served as Operations Director, responsible for managing existing Safe-Hubs and setting up new operations across South Africa.

Ashmita has also founded two businesses, SwapVend Afrika and Refresh Afrika. At SwapVend Afrika, they served as the Founder, while at Refresh Afrika, they developed the business strategy, implemented its go-to-market plan, and incubated SMMEs and informal businesses.

Prior to their entrepreneurial ventures, Ashmita held leadership positions at Youth Employment Service (YES) South Africa, Party4Change, Anheuser-Busch InBev, The South African Breweries, The Cyest Corporation, and Mazars. Their roles varied from Chief Operating Officer to Managing Director and involved financial management, strategic planning, team management, and business development.

Ashmita Singh has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, which they obtained from 2003 to 2006. Ashmita then pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika in 2007. In 2008, they furthered their education with a Postgraduate Degree in Accounting from the same university. In 2020, they completed a course in Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies at HarvardX.
