Paul Harnedy

Paul is Chief Operating Officer, having joined the Group in October 2018, with responsibility for all 30 hotels across UK & Ireland. A seasoned hotelier Paul started his 20-year career in hospitality having studied Hospitality Management at University College Birmingham.

He has managed the development of portfolios of hotels for global brands and in provincial UK markets, including central London, Airport markets and large conference led and leisure-based businesses. Before joining Amaris Hospitality, he held the position of Regional Vice President of Operations at Interstate Hotels and Resorts, leading its largest owner portfolio, consisting of 19 Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels throughout the UK, operating in City, Airport and tertiary markets.

Prior to Interstate, Paul led the development of a 5-year strategic plan for Greene King Pub Co aimed at bringing their hotel assets (141) into a single collection, to maximise the performance of this non-core part of the business. Paul managed a UK portfolio of hotels on behalf of owner LRG as Director of Operations, trading under various IHG brands and with an EBITDA in excess of £120million. He worked on the strategic disposal of some 60 hotels over a period of 2 years with the final 22 realising over £1billion for the company’s shareholders.
