Jade Polanowski (née Giacoppo) has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Starting at Google as a STEP Intern in 2014, they worked on programming for the Chrome team in the field of Web Animations. Moving on to UNSW Australia in 2014, they took on the role of Co-op Scholar, which focused on employability and included workshops and a leadership camp. Following that, they became a Tutor at UNSW Australia from 2015 to 2016.
In 2016, Jade returned to Google as a Software Engineering Intern, working on Google Drive and contributing to KML file support and upgrades for the Google Maps API. Continuing their career, they joined Atlassian in 2015 as a Software Engineer, where they worked on the Confluence Server product as a full stack developer. Their responsibilities included writing product level code for various features and utilizing JavaScript and Java.
From 2018 to 2022, Jade was employed at Canva, initially joining as a Full Stack Software Engineer and later stepping into the role of Technical Program Manager. During their tenure, they specialized in the print industry and undertook projects to develop Canva into an accessible product compliant with WCAG 2. Jade led multi-disciplinary teams, managed stakeholders, and created operational support infrastructure.
Currently, Jade holds the position of Director of Engineering Operations at Amaze, which they started in September 2022. Jade will assume the role of Head of Engineering in April 2023, showcasing their continuous growth and progression in the field.
Jade Polanowski (née Giacoppo) obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from UNSW from 2014 to 2016. In addition, they also completed a Leadership Workshop on Situational Leadership at Optimum in 2014. Jade Polanowski also holds a Certificate III & IV Fitness, although the institution and the year of obtaining it are not specified.
