Dilek Hakkani-Tur

Dilek Hakkani-Tur is a distinguished computer scientist with extensive experience in academia and industry. Dilek served as a Scholar and later as Senior Principal Scientist at Amazon from July 2018 to April 2023. Prior to this role, Dilek held the position of Conversation Modeling Technical Lead and Research Manager at Google from July 2016 to July 2018, and worked as a Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research's Deep Learning Technology Center from August 2014 to July 2016. Currently, Dilek is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, starting in September 2023. Dilek earned an MSc and PhD in Computer Science from Bilkent University between January 1994 and January 2000, and holds a BSc in Computer Science from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University, completed in January 1994.
