Iman K.

Iman K. is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in applied science and machine learning. Currently serving as the Lead Applied Scientist at Amazon since June 2019, Iman K. manages the Search Science & AI team, focusing on developing state-of-the-art deep learning models and leading the RAG capability for the Amazon Rufus GenAI shopping assistant. Prior experience includes a role as a Machine Learning Engineer at Unata Inc., where Iman K. led the Search and Recommendation team and developed models for search result ranking. Earlier positions involve serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Veeva Systems, working on ultra-scale machine learning systems, and conducting postdoctoral research at Queen's University on source code search engines. Education includes a PhD in Computer Science from Concordia University and an MSc in Information Technology from Sharif University of Technology.
