Vas Obeyesekere

Vas Obeyesekere is a Senior Program Manager specializing in Augmented Reality at Amazon since August 2017, where Vas founded the Amazon AR program and developed its long-term strategy. Prior to this role, Vas served as a Senior Product Manager in Industrial Design and Sustainability, collaborating closely with Jeff Bezos on the Climate Pledge and leading initiatives that achieved significant material reductions in packaging. Vas holds four approved patents in sustainability-related technology. Before joining Amazon, Vas was the Lead Industrial Designer at Pillar Product Design LLC and the Creative Director at Point Innovation, managing teams and delivering high-quality designs across various fields. Vas started as an Industrial Design Intern at Dell, receiving valuable industry guidance. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Product Design from the University of Houston and a degree in Mechanical Design from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
