Steven Richards

Steven Richards, Ph.D., brings with him more than 20 years of medicinal chemistry expertise through research leadership roles in biotech and pharmaceutical companies. He joined Ambagon from PTC Therapeutics, Inc., focused on treatments for neurodegenerative diseases, where he served as Senior Director of Chemistry. Prior to PTC, Steven served as Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Edison Pharmaceuticals, makers of therapeutics to treat mitochondrial diseases. He has also held positions of increasing responsibility at GBT, Exelixis, and Abbott Laboratories. Steven has advanced clinical candidates to treat metabolic diseases, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases. He earned a BS in Chemistry and Music from Yale University and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.
