Brijen Thananjeyan

Research Scientist at Ambi Robotics

Brijen Thananjeyan has a diverse work experience in the field of artificial intelligence, robotics, and computer science. Brijen is currently working as a Research Scientist at Ambi Robotics since February 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Assistant at Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research Lab (BAIR) from January 2016 to May 2022. Brijen also gained industry experience as a Research Intern at Toyota Research Institute in February 2021.

In addition to their research roles, Brijen has held various teaching positions at UC Berkeley, Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences. Brijen served as a CS188 Teaching Assistant from August 2017 to May 2018, where they assisted in teaching computer science courses. Brijen also worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Google in the summer of 2017.

Furthermore, Brijen served as a Teaching Assistant for multiple courses at UC Berkeley. Brijen was a CS70 Teaching Assistant from January 2017 to May 2017, assisting in teaching an electrical engineering and computer science course. Brijen also worked as an EE16A Teaching Assistant from August 2016 to December 2016, where they developed course content and materials for an introductory electrical engineering course. Additionally, Brijen was a CS61BL Undergraduate Student Instructor from May 2016 to August 2016, teaching labs for a data structures and programming methodology course.

Brijen's work experience also includes roles outside academia. Brijen served as a Reader and Tutor from August 2015 to December 2015, and as a Lab Assistant from June 2015 to August 2015, both at UC Berkeley. Additionally, they held the position of Service Officer at Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) - EECS Honors Society from December 2015 to December 2016.

Brijen Thananjeyan's education history begins in 2010 when they attended Mission San Jose High School. Following their high school graduation in 2014, they joined the University of California, Berkeley. From 2014 to 2018, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, with a focus on Engineering Mathematics and Statistics. Subsequently, they continued their education at the same institution and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science from 2018 to 2022.
