Daniel Mewes

Daniel Mewes has a long and varied work experience. In 2021, they began working as a Staff Software Engineer at Ambient.ai. Previously, from 2016 to 2021, they were employed at Stripe, where they held the roles of Software Engineering Manager for Climate, Software Engineering Manager for Merchant Intelligence, and Software Engineer for the Risk Engineering team. From 2013 to 2016, they worked at RethinkDB as the Director of Engineering, a Reliability & Performance Engineer, and a Contractor. From 2012 to 2013, they were a Research Assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics. From 2010 to 2012, they were a Systems Engineering Intern at RethinkDB, and from 2009 to 2010, they were a Research Assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics. In 2005, they founded B*table, a web-based booking and customer management system for event agencies, which they operated and maintained until 2012 when they sold it to the largest user at the time. Finally, in 2008, they were an Intern in Presales at Oracle.

Daniel Mewes obtained their Abitur from Theodor-Fliedner-Gymnasium Düsseldorf in 2007, with an emphasis on physics and math. Daniel then became a Junior Student in Computer Science at the University of Düsseldorf in 2004-2005. In 2008-2010, they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, with a Math minor, from Universität des Saarlandes. Daniel then completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science at Universität des Saarlandes in 2011-2013. In 2021, they obtained a Deep Learning Specialization from DeepLearning.AI.
