Georgina Balcells

Georgina Balcells has a diverse work experience in the biopharmaceutical and research industries. Georgina started their career at IMIM as a Researcher and Analyst from 2010 to 2013. Georgina then joined King's College London as a Researcher and Analyst from 2010 to 2013. Georgina pursued their PhD in Biomedicine (Doping Control Analysis) at IMIM from 2013 to 2017. Georgina worked as a Scientist at AELIS FARMA and a Research Engineer at INSERM from 2017 to 2019. From 2019 to 2020, they worked as a Biopharmaceutical and Quality Control Scientist at Kymos Pharma Services, SL. Georgina then became a Sales Area Manager at BCN Peptides from 2020 to 2023. Currently, they serve as a Sales Manager Europe at AmbioPharm, a Global Peptide CDMO.

Georgina Balcells completed their Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from the year 2005 to 2009. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Laboratory of Clinical Analysis at Universitat Pompeu Fabra for the academic year 2009 to 2010, specializing in Biomedical Sciences, General. Later on, they undertook a PhD in Analytical Chemistry with a focus on Doping Control Analysis from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, which spanned from 2013 to 2016. Recently, in the year 2019 to 2020, Georgina Balcells obtained a Postgraduate degree in Project Management and Innovation from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
