International Science And Technology Operations Lead For Usindopacom at amentum

Jason VanPelt has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. Jason currently works at Amentum as the International Science and Technology Operations Lead for USINDOPACOM, where they provide research and analysis on new technologies in support of the US Indo-Pacific Command. Prior to that, they worked at General Dynamics Information Technology as a Training Specialist and Senior Advisor, where they trained sailors in the tactical employment of the Aegis combat system. Jason also served as a Senior Program Manager for Ballistic Missile Defense at Sayres and Associates, Corp. Before transitioning to civilian work, Jason had a long career in the US Navy, where they held roles such as IAMD Warfare Tactics Instructor, Surface Electronics LDO, C5I Officer, and Communications Maintenance Officer. Additionally, they served on various naval vessels, including the USS McFaul DDG 74, USS Monterey CG 61, and USS George H. W. Bush CVN 77. Jason also had a role at the Center for Surface Combat Systems Unit Great Lakes, IL as the ET/IC "A" School LCPO and Chief Interior Communications Electrician.

Jason VanPelt attended Southern Illinois University, Carbondale from 2008 to 2026, where they studied Workforce Development and Training. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) degree in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering Technology/Technician from Thomas Edison State University. In addition to their education, Jason also holds certifications including Ballistic Missile Defense Watch Officer Baseline 3.6 and 4.0 from the US Navy, as well as a certification in Tactical Action Officer.
