Kristol Whatley Simms has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Kristol began their career at the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District in 2007 as an Attorney II, specializing in defense and client advocacy. During their time there, they showcased their analytical, investigative, organizational, negotiation, and litigation skills in complex civil cases.

In 2014, Kristol transitioned to Ameren, where they held various roles over the years. Kristol started as a Corporate Counsel and served in that position until 2018, responsible for legal matters. Subsequently, they were promoted to Director of Energy Efficiency Strategy and Innovation, leading the development of energy efficiency strategies. In 2021, they became the Senior Director of Energy Efficiency and Regulatory Policy Implementation, overseeing the implementation of regulatory policies. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President Clean Energy Transition, Economic, Business, and Community Development, driving transformative initiatives within the company.

Throughout their career, Kristol has demonstrated exceptional talent, versatility, and expertise in both legal and energy-related fields.

Kristol Whatley Simms attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, School of Law from 2004 to 2007, where they earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree. Prior to that, they studied at Lincoln University (MO) from 2000 to 2004, and they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections.
