Melissa Black

Melissa started with AmeriBen in November 2022 as a Claims Director II, overseeing Claims Operations, Network Operations, Eligibility, Pharmacy Benefit Management, and Support Services teams. Before working with AmeriBen, Melissa had twenty-four years of experience working with Elevance Health (formerly Anthem). After six years as a frontline associate and four years as a team lead, she moved into a management role, where she remained until she joined AmeriBen. Melissa has worked in many facets of the healthcare system; utilization review, claims, member services, provider services, behavioral health, Inter-Plan Program services, membership, provider reconciliation, and Jointly Administered Accounts.

Passionate about her work, Melissa has always sought integrity in doing the right thing for all parties. She thrives on making a positive difference and looks for process improvements. Learning is central to Melissa developing an abundant personal and professional life. Melissa attributes her strong belief in work ethic, integrity, and helping others to the influence of her parents and other great leaders she has been fortunate to work alongside in her career.
