Lawrence Chui, Ph.D., CPA, CFE, is a Professor of Accounting at the University of St. Thomas, where tenure began in August 2010, and includes roles as Associate Professor and Assistant Professor, as well as serving as Deloitte Faculty Fellow. In addition to academic responsibilities, Lawrence Chui has been involved with the American Accounting Association since 2013, holding positions in the Public Interest Section, including VP Research Chair and Media Relations. Consultancy and advisory roles include work at Bethlehem College & Seminary. Earlier experiences include teaching fellowships and faculty roles at other institutions as well as various positions in accounting, auditing, and finance. Lawrence Chui earned a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of North Texas from 2005 to 2010.

Founded in 1916 as the American Association of University Instructors in Accounting, its present name was adopted in 1936.
