Brandon Nicol has a diverse work experience in the insurance industry, starting as a Quote & Bind Sales Rep with State Farm in 2005. Brandon then worked at Marcy McAnally State Farm Agent as a Sales Associate before moving to COUNTRY Financial as a Commercial/Agribusiness Underwriter and later as a Senior Farm Underwriter. Subsequently, they joined XL Catlin as an Agriculture Reinsurance Underwriter and later worked at American Agricultural Insurance Company as an Account Manager and ultimately as Vice President and Account Executive. Currently, Brandon is the Vice President of Underwriting & Reinsurance at Nodak Insurance Company. In addition to their insurance roles, they also served in the Army National Guard as a Team Leader and Company Commander, taking on roles that included hurricane aid in New Orleans and serving as an Afghanistan police mentor.

Brandon Nicol obtained an Associate's degree in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications from Heartland Community College in 2006 before completing a Bachelor's degree in Insurance from Illinois State University in 2010. In addition, they have obtained certifications in CPCU, ARe, AFIS, and ANIS from The Institutes.
