Russell Hubbard

Russell Hubbard, CIPP, serves as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at American Airlines since August 2010, having progressed through several positions including Associate General Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer, and Data Protection Officer. In this role, Russell advises the C-Suite and Audit Committee on privacy and cyber-related risks, while also designing a comprehensive privacy program and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure compliance with data privacy laws. Prior experience includes serving as Managing Director of Legal - Data Privacy at American Airlines, as well as litigation associate roles at Figari & Davenport, where complex commercial litigation was handled. Russell holds a J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Kentucky. Additionally, Russell has been a member of the Board of Directors at SITA, focusing on cyber and privacy issues.
