Christian Frenopoulo, PhD, has a wide range of work experience in the field of anthropology. Christian is currently serving as the Editor In Chief for the American Anthropological Association. Previously, they worked as a Senior Examiner for Social and Cultural Anthropology at The International Baccalaureate. Christian has also held roles as an Independent Contractor at New York University Abu Dhabi, a Copyeditor and translator at Tipití - Journal of the Society for the Anthropology of Lowland South America, an Instructor at Eureka - The Learning Centre, and an Instructor at Berlitz Corporation. Additionally, Dr. Frenopoulo served as an Associate Editor at Anthropology of Consciousness (AAA journal). Christian has also held teaching positions as an Adjunct Professor and Assistant Professor at Universidad de la República and as a Technical English teacher at Uninorte. Prior to these roles, they worked as a Philosophy teacher at Colégio Sigma.

Christian Frenopoulo, PhD has an extensive educational background in anthropology, public health, and psychology. They earned a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Universidad Católica del Uruguay 'Dámaso Antonio Larranaga' in 1996. They then went on to obtain a Licentiate degree in Social Anthropology from Universidad de la República in 2000, followed by a Graduate Certificate in Psychology from the same institution in 2002. They completed their Master of Arts (MA) in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Regina in 2005.

Frenopoulo continued their education at the University of Pittsburgh, where they completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences in 2012. They also earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cultural Anthropology/Medical Anthropology from the same university in the same year.

In addition to their formal degrees, Frenopoulo has obtained additional certifications in Global Health, Global Studies, and Latin American Social and Public Policy from the University of Pittsburgh.
