Calley Jones, Ph.D.

Calley Jones, Ph.D. has diverse work experience in the field of cancer research and science writing. Calley is currently working as a Science Writer at the American Association for Cancer Research since June 2021. Prior to this, they were a Science Writing Intern at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard from January 2021 to June 2021. Calley also served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Mayo Clinic, starting in September 2020 and ending in June 2021, where they focused on studying mechanisms of endocrine resistance in estrogen receptor alpha-positive breast cancer. Calley completed their Ph.D. at Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, where they worked as a PhD Candidate from July 2015 to September 2020. Calley also gained experience as an Internship Trainee at Mayo Clinic in their Department of Public Affairs from March 2019 to October 2019, where they were involved in science writing, including writing news briefs, releases, and articles. Prior to this, they had summer research experiences at Princeton University in 2014, Mayo Clinic in 2013, Baylor University in 2012, and MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2011.

Calley Jones, Ph.D., completed their education in a specialized field of study. Calley earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, General from Baylor University, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. In pursuit of further knowledge and expertise, Calley then enrolled in the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Calley successfully completed their studies there from 2015 to 2020, earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
