David Alter M.D. Dabcc

David Alter MD DABCC serves as the Director of Clinical Chemistry and Professor in the Department of Pathology at Emory University School of Medicine since December 2018. In addition, David Alter holds the position of Core Lab Medical Director at Emory University Hospital. David Alter has an extensive involvement with the College of American Pathologists (CAP), serving in various capacities from 1997 to present, including Committee Member and Chair of the Clinical Chemistry Committee. David Alter is also an active member of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry and the American Society for Clinical Pathology, contributing to editorial boards and committees. With a solid background in pathology, David Alter previously served as a Clinical Professor of Pathology at MSU CHM and worked as a Clinical Pathologist at Michigan Pathology Specialists/Spectrum Health. David Alter’s education includes a Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College and a Master of Public Health from the University of Michigan, among other training experiences.
