William McKinney is a seasoned leader in higher education, currently serving as Senior Director of Higher Education Initiatives at CAEL and Senior Fellow at the American Association of Colleges and Universities. Previous roles include Senior Advisor for Regional Campus Affairs and Senior Advisor for Distance Education at Indiana University, alongside senior fellowships at the Association of American Colleges and Universities. McKinney's leadership experience is highlighted by their tenure as President of Valdosta State University, where responsibilities encompassed strategic mission oversight and budget management. Additional leadership roles include President Designate at IPFW and Dean at Slippery Rock University. McKinney holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Science from Indiana University Bloomington, alongside a Master's in History and Philosophy of Science and dual bachelor's degrees in Chemical Engineering and History from Bucknell University.
