Ivan Campeotto

Senior Visiting Fellow at Nottingham Trent University

Ivan Campeotto is an Assistant Professor in Microbial Biotechnology at the University of Nottingham since July 2022, concurrently serving as a Senior Visiting Fellow and Senior Lecturer in Biochemistry at Nottingham Trent University since April 2020. Ivan has a research focus on the mechanisms of infection of Trypanosoma cruzi and Plasmodium falciparum, aimed at vaccine development and drug design. Additionally, Ivan holds the position of Honorary Fellow at the University of Leicester and has contributed to structural studies of malaria and trypanosomal infections as part of the Wellcome Trust ISSF Early Career Research Fellowship. Ivan's prior experience includes research roles at Pembroke College Oxford, the University of Oxford, Imperial College London, and King's College London, with expertise in structural analysis of various pathogen-related proteins and enzymes. Education qualifications include a degree in Biotechnology with a specialization in Protein Crystallography from Universita' degli Studi di Padova.
