Mark C. Suchman

Mark Suchman has a diverse work experience in academia and research. Mark is currently serving as the Executive Director and Research Professor at the American Bar Foundation, where they lead interdisciplinary and rigorous empirical research on law and legal institutions. Prior to this, they worked as a Professor of Sociology at Brown University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Additionally, they have held positions as a Program Director at the National Science Foundation and as a Visiting Scholar at Boalt Hall Law School, UC-Berkeley, Cornell University, and Yale University. Their expertise lies in sociology, law, and health policy research.

Mark Suchman received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Harvard University, summa cum laude, in 1983. Mark went on to complete their Juris Doctor (JD) degree at Yale Law School from 1986 to 1989. Finally, they earned their PhD in Sociology from Stanford University from 1984 to 1994.
