Elisabeth Thomsen

Elisabeth Thomsen currently serves as the Executive Director at the American Cancer Society since March 2020, where responsibilities include leading and training a team for community development initiatives and managing community-based events with significant income targets. Prior to this role, Elisabeth held the position of Director of Special Events at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin from March 2007 to March 2020, overseeing a strategy that successfully raised over $4 million annually, and previously served as Fundraising Manager, generating over $2 million annually. Elisabeth's earlier experience includes serving as Division Director for the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation from June 2001 to March 2007, managing fundraising activities and volunteer efforts. Elisabeth began their career as a Research Associate at Durkin Associates from May 2000 to June 2001. Elisabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, earned in 2000.
