Nargis Nigar

Nargis Nigar serves as the Senior Scientific Director at the American Cancer Society, leading the Tobacco Control Research team. In addition, Nargis is the Associate Editor for Nicotine & Tobacco Research at the Society For Research On Nicotine and Tobacco. Academic roles include serving as Project Manager and Principal Investigator for the International Tobacco Control Policy Evaluation Project at the University of Waterloo and a Fellow in labor economics at the Global Labor Organization. Previous experience includes serving as a Senior Economist at the World Health Organization, an External Collaborator at Tobacconomics, an Assistant Professor at the University of Dhaka, and a Research Associate at the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies. Nargis holds a PhD in Economics from Cornell University and has completed postdoctoral work in Tobacco Control at the University of Waterloo.
