Matthew Kastner serves as the Director of Media Relations for the Plastics Division at the American Chemistry Council since August 2021, leading earned media strategy and engaging with major media outlets. Prior to this role, Matthew held the position of Director of Chlorine Issue Management & Communications at the American Chemistry Council where responsibilities included managing external communications and developing advocacy messaging. With prior experience as an Account Executive at Landmark Public Affairs, a Graduate Research Assistant at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, and a Chemistry and Science Teacher, Matthew has a diverse background in public affairs, research, and education. Additionally, experiences at The Fertilizer Institute as Manager of Scientific Programs and as a Lab Technician at the University of Virginia further contribute to a robust expertise in environmental management and communications. Matthew holds a Master of Science in Environmental Management from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Virginia.
