Maria Buscemi, MPA, CAE has a diverse work experience in various associations. Maria started their career as a Sections Coordinator at the American Association for Justice in 2005. From 2006 to 2009, they worked at the National Court Reporters Association as an Exam Administration Manager, where they managed national certification examinations and supervised test site selection and personnel assignment processes.
In 2009, Maria joined the American Council of Engineering Companies, initially as a Manager of Continuing Education System and later as a Senior Manager of Federal Programs and Education Activities. In these roles, they managed the Registered Continuing Education Program and the ACEC Designation Programs, developed educational course content, and served as a liaison to governmental agencies and volunteer committees.
From 2012 to 2018, Maria worked at the American Physical Therapy Association as a Professional Development Manager. In this position, they created e-learning opportunities for physical therapists, assisted in setting departmental direction, allocated resources, and supervised the performance of the professional development team.
Currently, Maria holds the position of Vice President of Education and Health Policy at the American Chiropractic Association, a role they have held since 2018.
Maria Buscemi, MPA, CAE has a strong educational background in the fields of public administration and nonprofit management. From 2012 to 2017, they attended George Mason University, earning a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree with a concentration in Nonprofit Management. Prior to that, from 1998 to 2002, they studied at James Madison University and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology.
In addition to their academic achievements, Maria Buscemi also holds a certification from ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership. In January 2019, they obtained the CAE (Certified Association Executive) credential from this institution.
