Peter McDonough

Peter McDonough has had an extensive career in the legal field, with their most recent role being the Vice President and General Counsel at the American Council on Education since January 2015. Prior to that, they served as the General Counsel at Princeton University from 2002 to 2014, and as the University Counsel from 1990 to 2002. Before their time at Princeton, they worked as a Senior Associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP from 1986 to 1990. Peter began their legal career as an Associate at Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti LLP from 1985 to 1986, and at Shea & Gould from 1982 to 1985.

Peter McDonough attended Georgetown University from 1975 to 1979, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics. Following this, they pursued further education at Georgetown University Law Center from 1979 to 1982, completing a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree.
