The Talent Acquisition Partner is responsible for the timely, intentional and effective full-cycle recruitment of talent.  The incumbent manages all job descriptions within the company and ensures they are up to date and accurate; sources to pipeline talent and provides reporting that monitors and measures the effectiveness of recruitment and hiring programs.

**This position sits in West Des Moines, IA with an in office working schedule**

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Establishes recruitment process, educates managers and communicates / executes best practices.
  • Establishes effective candidate sourcing mechanisms including but not limited to professional networks and affiliations, staffing agency partners, career-based websites, career fairs and employee referral programs.
  • Sources, interviews and presents optimal candidates with demonstrated values and skills that are aligned with American Equity’s overall goals and needs.
  • Consults with hiring managers on candidate selection and job offer details.
  • Ensures services and policies are following company, professional standards and state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Partners with managers and HR peers to facilitate internal talent development and employee movement.
  • Recruitment for early talent and the Internship Program, including participation in career fairs and networking events.
  • Oversees all company job descriptions and works with managers to maintain current and up to date descriptions.
  • Identifies and addresses opportunities for improving HR processes.
  • Build relationships with applicants and past employees to best align talent to business goals and strategy.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct Reports: 0

General Description of Indirect Reports (2 and 3-downs):  0

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or other related field of study; plus 4 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience recruiting with proven track record of successfully identifying and attracting top talent.
  • Experience with applicant tracking system(s) and recruitment on third-party job platforms.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS:

CP, SCP, PHR, or SPHR a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:   

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.
  • Expert negotiation skills related to employment offer terms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and consultatively with all levels of leaders, employees, candidates and outside third parties.
  • Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to collect and consider multiple inputs/opinions/data and recommend an effective path forward.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead progressive, integrated and sustainable programs that enhance employee engagement.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to communicate messages that have both positive and negative impact with desirable outcomes.
  • Outstanding professionalism.
