Chellie Maples, PhD, currently serves as an Agricultural Economist at the American Farmland Trust since February 2023. Prior experience includes roles as a Graduate Research Assistant at Oklahoma State University from January 2019 to February 2022 and at Mississippi State University from August 2016 to August 2018. Chellie was a Frederic Bastiat Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University during both the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 academic years, focusing on policy analysis within various economic frameworks. Additional experience encompasses a Policy and Markets Internship at the International Fertilizer Development Center in summer 2017 and a College of Business Student Assistant position at the University of North Alabama from August 2015 to May 2016. Chellie attained a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University, building upon a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from the University of North Alabama.
